Investigation into the bombing of businessman Vadym Yermolaiev in Monaco
On June 29, Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev, who also holds Cypriot citizenship, survived a bombing attack outside his apartment building in Monaco. Yermolaiev, his partner Anna, and his 13-year-old son were injured in the explosion. In a statement, Yermolaiev accused current and former officers of Ukraine's military intelligence (GUR) of orchestrating the assassination attempt. French investigators identified Ukrainian national Anastasiia Berezovska as the suspect who planted the explosive device. Shortly after the incident, Berezovska was found dead near Kyiv. Ukrainian authorities subsequently arrested GUR officer Vladyslav Reut and former law enforcement official Oleksandr Zykovych for her murder. During a court hearing in Kyiv, Reut alleged that Zykovych was responsible for the killing, while prosecutors claim the pair abducted Berezovska at gunpoint before driving her to a forest.
