FIFA confirms 17-minute halftime show for 2026 World Cup final
FIFA has officially announced that the halftime performance during the 2026 World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey will last exactly 17 minutes. This duration is only two minutes longer than a standard halftime break. Musical performances by Shakira, Madonna, and Justin Bieber will occupy 11 minutes of the interval. The remaining six minutes will be dedicated to stage setup, dismantling, and irrigation of the pitch. Pitch irrigation was a specific concern raised by the Spanish team due to previous observations of dry and slow turf conditions at the stadium. Initial rumors suggesting a performance lasting over 30 minutes have been officially refuted by the organization. Additionally, the standard two hydration breaks per match will remain in effect due to high temperatures. The final is scheduled to take place this Sunday.
