Police seizure of laughing gas in Ayia Napa nightclubs
During a coordinated operation, the Cyprus Police conducted raids on four nightclubs in Ayia Napa under a judicial warrant. The operation was carried out by the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) with the assistance of the Multipurpose Special Action Unit (MMAD). Authorities inspected four establishments, discovering prohibited substances in three of them. A total of 1,423 ampoules containing nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, were seized. Additionally, officers confiscated 455 balloons and three metal canisters used for the distribution of the substance. Two individuals were arrested on charges of illegal possession of a Class B controlled drug. The Ayia Napa Police Station is currently conducting further investigations into the matter.
