Police arrest multiple suspects for theft and burglary across Cyprus
Cypriot police have reported several arrests related to theft and burglary across the country. In the Famagusta district, a 42-year-old man was remanded for three days regarding the theft of copper and sanitaryware from a Protaras hotel and tools, cables, and a car from a construction site in Ayia Napa during January 2026. Separately, a 19-year-old was arrested in Ayia Napa for 11 burglaries committed in June and July, after he was found with stolen cash and jewelry. In a third case, a 29-year-old man was arrested in Nicosia for three counts of copper cable theft from a power facility in Strovolos between July 15 and July 17. The Nicosia suspect was linked to the crimes after a construction site employee reported the theft. All suspects were scheduled to appear before their respective district courts for detention hearings. Investigations into these cases are currently ongoing.
