Police arrest two suspects in separate theft investigations in Cyprus

Cypriot police have reported two separate arrest cases involving thefts in Nicosia and Ayia Napa. In the Nicosia district, a 29-year-old man was arrested following an investigation into three copper cable thefts from a construction site in Strovolos, occurring between July 15 and July 17. Meanwhile, in Ayia Napa, a 19-year-old man was apprehended shortly after 1:00 a.m. while leaving a hotel room. Police discovered €315 in cash, a wallet, and two gold chains in his possession. Further investigation linked the 19-year-old to ten additional burglaries committed in Ayia Napa during June and July. Both suspects were scheduled to appear before their respective district courts to face requests for detention orders. The Criminal Investigation Departments (TAE) in both Nicosia and Famagusta are continuing their inquiries into these matters.
