Limassol municipality to hold public consultation and ministerial meeting on traffic management
On July 24, 2026, the Municipality of Limassol will host a public consultation regarding the creation of a multimodal mobility hub. The project, planned for a Turkish-Cypriot owned plot of land, aims to establish a transfer center where residents can park their vehicles and switch to alternative transportation methods. Proposed amenities for the hub include waiting areas, a cafeteria, electric vehicle charging stations, and modern information systems. The consultation will take place at 18:00 at the Panos Solomonides Municipal Cultural Center. Simultaneously, on the same day, Minister of Transport Alexis Vafeadis will meet with local mayors to address the city's ongoing traffic congestion. This meeting serves as a follow-up to previous discussions, focusing on the northern bypass road. The mayors intend to advocate for the prioritization of small-scale infrastructure projects that can be implemented quickly to alleviate current traffic issues.
