Memorial event held in Larnaca for ELDYK soldiers

The Larnaca Reserve Officers Association organized a memorial ceremony at ELDYK Park in Larnaca to honor the soldiers who died during the defense of Cyprus. The event began with a minute of silence, followed by a memorial service (trisagion) conducted by Proto-priest Petros Lapathiotis. Speakers included the President of the Association, Sozos Christos Theodoulou, and Honorary President Georgios Konstantinou. Deputy Mayor of Larnaca, Iason Iasonidis, delivered an address highlighting the sacrifices made by the Greek Armed Forces. The event concluded with the laying of wreaths and the playing of the national anthem. Relatives of the fallen and missing persons, as well as state officials and local representatives, were in attendance. The speakers emphasized the historical significance of the soldiers' resistance against Turkish forces during the 1974 conflict. The ceremony served as a public tribute to the defense of Cyprus's territorial integrity.
