Six arrested in connection with violent brawl in Xylofagou

A 31-year-old man was arrested by police in connection with a violent brawl that occurred in Xylofagou on the evening of July 8, 2026. Following his arrest, the Famagusta District Court issued a four-day detention order to facilitate the investigation by the Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department. This brings the total number of arrests in the case to six. Previously, police arrested a 27-year-old on July 9, a 30-year-old and a 20-year-old on July 13, and two suspects aged 26 and 24 on July 15. Authorities are currently searching for four additional suspects, including one whose identity was published on July 10 and three others whose details were released alongside the now-arrested 31-year-old. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
