Cyprus central agency announces student loan disbursements for the 2026/2027 academic year
The Central Agency for Equal Distribution of Burdens (CFEDB) in Cyprus, represented by Deputy Director George Sofokleous, announced that student loan disbursements for the 2026/2027 academic year will begin on August 3, 2026. Beneficiaries whose applications have been approved are instructed to visit their local Housing Finance Organization (HFO) branches to collect their funds. To facilitate the payment, students must provide proof of registration for the upcoming academic year. For students who are not in their first or final year of study and have not yet registered, alternative documentation may be accepted. Regarding application trends, data for the first half of 2026 shows 317 student loan applications compared to 416 in the same period of 2025. Applications for mortgage interest subsidies also declined to 506 from 559 in 2025. Total application volume for the agency reached 969 in the first half of 2026, down from 1,031 the previous year. Applications for the current academic year remain open.
