Customs officers seize undeclared luxury goods at Larnaca Airport

On July 7, 2026, customs officers at Larnaca Airport discovered undeclared luxury goods in the luggage of a couple holding Cypriot citizenship. The passengers, aged 55 and 62, were of Russian origin and had arrived in Cyprus from Switzerland via France. The seized items included two luxury watches, as well as various clothing and footwear articles, with an estimated total value of €46,000. Customs authorities initiated the inspection following an evaluation of intelligence information. As a consequence of the failure to declare these items for the payment of relevant duties and taxes, the passengers were fined €5,022. Additionally, the customs department successfully collected €10,221 in outstanding duties and taxes related to the imported goods.
