APOEL Nicosia set to sign Rares Ilie from OGC Nice

APOEL Nicosia has reportedly reached an agreement to sign 23-year-old midfielder Rares Ilie from the French club OGC Nice. According to Romanian media reports, specifically iamsport.ro, the transfer involves a salary of 300,000 euros for the player, with OGC Nice retaining a sell-on clause. Ilie, who has been with Nice since 2022 after a 4 million euro transfer from Rapid Bucharest, struggled to secure a starting position in France. The player previously spent time on loan at Lausanne, Catanzaro, and Empoli, recording one goal and four assists in 26 Serie B appearances last season. Despite interest from Rapid Bucharest and Avellino, the Romania U21 international chose to join the Cypriot club.
