Recent police activities in Cyprus involving traffic incidents and drug arrests

In Amargeti, a 37-year-old driver crashed into a residential wall late Sunday while carrying his five-year-old son as a passenger. Police reported the driver had a blood alcohol level of 100µg, nearly five times the legal limit, though no serious injuries occurred. Separately, in the Nicosia district, members of the Drug Law Enforcement Unit arrested two men, aged 29 and 31, during a drug trafficking investigation. The suspects attempted to evade police on the Alampra-Mosfiloti road, colliding with multiple patrol vehicles before being stopped in Marki. Authorities recovered 170 ecstasy pills, 40 grams of cocaine, and 400 grams of methamphetamine from open fields. A subsequent search of the suspects' residence yielded €4,150 in cash and electronic equipment. The 29-year-old also faced charges for assaulting police officers, while a knife was discovered in the vehicle driven by the 31-year-old.
