Cyprus construction material costs rise in June 2026

The Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat) reported that construction material prices rose by 0.55 per cent in June 2026, reaching an index of 122.74 units. Compared to June 2025, the overall index reflects a 3.12 per cent increase. During the first half of 2026, prices were 1.62 per cent higher than in the same period of 2025. Metallic products experienced the most significant annual growth at 5.02 per cent, specifically driven by a 7.56 per cent rise in aluminium products. Iron and steel products saw a 3.76 per cent annual increase. Furthermore, categories including wood, insulation, chemicals, and plastics rose by 4.07 per cent year-on-year, with plastic products specifically climbing by 6.53 per cent. These trends indicate ongoing inflationary pressures within the Cypriot construction sector.
