Cypriot water skier Andreas Konstantinou wins double gold at Panhellenic championship

Seventeen-year-old Cypriot water skier Andreas Konstantinou secured two gold medals at the Panhellenic Water Ski Championship held at Lake Stratos in Agrinio from July 10 to 12. He achieved first place in both the Under-17 and Open men’s slalom categories. His performance in the Open event included a score of 5.00/58/11.25. As a result of these victories, Konstantinou is now ranked fifth in Europe and seventh globally in the U17 category. Having started the sport at age five, he previously won the U14 European title in Spain in 2023. The athlete is now preparing for the upcoming European Championship scheduled to take place in Greece this August. Following the event, the Cyprus Water Ski Federation reiterated its advocacy for the inclusion of water skiing in the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games.
