Bus fare increases announced for Nicosia and Larnaca

Starting August 3, Cyprus Public Transport will increase bus fares in the Nicosia and Larnaca districts. Standard daytime urban tickets will rise from €2.40 to €2.70, while nighttime tickets will increase from €4.20 to €4.70. Motion card holders will see daytime fares rise from €1.80 to €2 and nighttime rates from €2.60 to €3.50. Rural route fares are set to increase from 60 cents to 70 cents, with other ticket types also seeing price adjustments. The company states these increases are part of a biennial contractual mechanism based on inflation, fuel costs, and maintenance, noting they absorbed costs in 2024 to avoid earlier price hikes. Annual student tickets will remain fixed at €30. Currently, no changes have been announced for the independent bus systems operating in Paphos, Limassol, Ayia Napa, and Protaras.
