Christopher Nolan's new film, The Odyssey, earned $264.1 million during its opening weekend, marking the director's biggest global debut to date. This figure surpassed the previous record held by The Dark Knight Rises, which earned $249 million. The revenue breakdown includes $124.5 million from the domestic U.S. market and approximately $139 million from international territories. The film also set a record for the largest opening for a movie starring Matt Damon and for an R-rated title distributed by Universal Pictures. Production costs for the project were reported at $250 million, with an additional $125 million spent on global marketing and promotion. The movie was released in Greece last Thursday and continues to be screened globally.
