Bus fare increases scheduled for Nicosia and Larnaca

Starting August 3, 2026, Cyprus Public Transport will implement a fare increase for bus services in Nicosia and Larnaca. This adjustment is based on a contractual obligation that triggers a price review every two years using a formula linked to inflation, fuel costs, and maintenance expenses. The operator noted that a planned increase was skipped in 2024 to alleviate passenger burdens. Cash-paid daytime tickets will rise from 2.40 to 2.70 euros, while night fares increase from 4.20 to 4.70 euros. Motion cardholders will also see adjustments, with daytime trips rising from 1.80 to 2 euros and night trips from 2.60 to 3.50 euros. Rural route fares will increase from 0.60 to 0.70 euros. Notably, the annual student pass will remain at its current price of 30 euros. Public transport services in Limassol, Paphos, Ayia Napa, and Protaras are unaffected by these changes as they are operated by different companies.
