Israel constructs 23-kilometer earth barrier along Gaza's yellow line

Satellite imagery analyzed by the Associated Press shows that Israel has constructed over 23 kilometers of earth barriers along the so-called yellow line in the Gaza Strip. This barrier separates areas under Israeli military control from those where the majority of the Palestinian population is currently concentrated. The yellow line was originally established as a temporary demarcation zone following the October 2025 ceasefire agreement supported by the United States. While the agreement intended for this to be a preliminary step toward a full troop withdrawal, the Israeli military has now confirmed the creation of a physical barrier in this location. The military stated that the area is being developed into a security zone equipped with surveillance and intelligence-gathering systems. Ongoing construction has fueled concerns among Palestinians that this demarcation is evolving from a temporary boundary into a permanent de facto border within the territory. The Gaza Strip spans approximately 40 kilometers in length and up to 11 kilometers in width, housing a population of over two million people.
