24-year-old man hospitalized after zipline collapse in India

On July 3, a 24-year-old tourist suffered a serious fall from a height of approximately 12 meters at the Sterling River Resort in Dandeli, India. The accident occurred when the safety mechanism of the zipline failed shortly after the ride began. The victim's brother recorded the incident on his mobile phone. Despite the severity of the fall, the man survived but sustained multiple fractures to his arms and legs, along with nerve damage. He was initially treated at the Dandeli Government Hospital before being transferred to a specialized facility in Miraj for surgery. Further procedures are expected during his ongoing recovery. The victim's family has accused the resort management of failing to conduct necessary technical safety checks. Furthermore, the family alleges that the resort initially promised to cover medical expenses but later ceased communication, leaving them with the financial burden. The family is currently seeking accountability for the negligence.
