AEL Limassol secures Bruno Almeida and wins first friendly match
AEL Limassol has officially announced the signing of Portuguese winger Bruno Almeida, who joins the team from Santa Clara on a contract lasting until 2027. The 29-year-old, born on September 9, 1996, is expected to bolster the club's attacking options. This move follows the recent additions of Karo and Denswil, with the club's spokesperson, Nikolas Leventis, noting that the team is finalizing its roster planning for the upcoming season under coach Hugo Martins.
In concurrent sporting developments, AEL Limassol successfully kicked off its pre-season schedule with a 2-1 friendly victory over Karmiotissa. Despite falling behind early due to a goal from Psychas, AEL secured the comeback win with strikes from Karamanis and Joao Tavares. Head coach Hugo Martins used the match to experiment with different formations and distribute playing time, though he was unable to field new recruits Denswil, Almeida, and Karo, who were following individual training programs, or Paroutis, who is recovering from a knee injury. The club has scheduled its next friendly match against Olympiacos Nicosia for July 25, alongside an open training session planned for July 28 at the Parekklisia community stadium.
