Public share offer launched for new cooperative bank in Cyprus
The Pancyprian Co-operative Holdings and Co-operative Promotion Company Ltd has officially launched an online platform at https://shares.pccpc.cy to facilitate a public share offering. The initiative aims to raise €42 million in capital to establish a new cooperative credit institution in Cyprus. The subscription period began on July 22, 2026, and is scheduled to remain open until November 16, 2026.
To become a member, interested citizens must purchase a minimum of 100 shares at a price of €1 per share. Payments up to €10,000 can be processed via JCC using bank cards, with funds deposited into a dedicated Bank of Cyprus account. Transactions exceeding €10,000 require a bank transfer after coordinating with the issuer's support team. Panikos Hambas, Chairman of the Board, described the initial public response as encouraging, noting that several thousand shares were sold shortly after the platform went live.
The issuing company plans to decide on the allotment of shares by December 1, 2026, with allocation notifications expected to be sent to investors by December 11, 2026. Prospective investors are advised to review the official prospectus for details on risks and benefits. Once established, the new entity intends to apply for a formal banking license from the Central Bank of Cyprus and the European Central Bank.
