EDEK committee initiates membership registry reform and schedules upcoming party congresses
The Membership Registry Reform and Congress Committee, appointed during the EDEK Extraordinary Congress on July 5, 2026, held meetings on July 9 and July 19 to organize party procedures. Chaired initially by Nikos Anastasiou, the committee requested digital registry records from 2015, 2017, 2021, and 2025 for unification. A key mandate involves reviewing the status of members who supported or ran for other parties during the 2026 legislative elections based on documented evidence. The final registry will be transferred to the Congress Credentials Committee. Additionally, the committee set the date for the Statutory Congress on October 11, 2026, and the Ideological-Political and Electoral Congress on December 13, 2026. A timeline was established for constitutional amendments, including a public call for proposals by July 31 and provincial conferences concluding by September 25. Nikos Anastasiou stepped down from the committee following the second session.
