Cyprus and Greece discuss pharmaceutical regulation cooperation

On Tuesday, Cyprus Minister of Health Neophytos Charalambides met with the President of the Greek National Organization for Medicines (EOF) Spyros Sapounas in Cyprus. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Director of the Ministry of Health, the Director of Pharmaceutical Services, and the two Vice Presidents of the EOF. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in pharmaceutical regulation as outlined in a memorandum of understanding between the two ministries. Minister Charalambides proposed sharing expertise gained during the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union. A key topic of discussion was the Greek model for home delivery of high-cost medications. Cypriot authorities are currently evaluating this model to determine its feasibility for protecting vulnerable patient groups. The officials reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation in the healthcare sector.
