Cyprus completes first phase of the iJustice judicial system platform

The first phase of the iJustice digital platform has been officially launched in Cyprus to modernize the judicial system. Deputy Minister of Innovation Nikodimos Damianou stated that the new system replaces the previous eJustice platform, which had experienced a two-year delay and took four years to complete. The current development initiative began in March 2025 in collaboration with the Cyprus Bar Association and judicial authorities. The platform supports electronic filings and integrates the newly established Admiralty and Commercial Courts. Future plans for 2027 include the integration of criminal courts and the police fine payment system, alongside potential implementations of artificial intelligence. Ongoing modernization efforts also involve digital audio recording of trials, electronic transcripts, remote hearings, and the installation of evidence display monitors in courtrooms. Cyprus Bar Association President Michalis Vorkas noted that additional lawyer-requested features are currently under development for next year.
