Democratic Rally addresses Cyprus issue ahead of UN Secretary-General visit

The President of the Democratic Rally (DISY), Annita Dimitriou, reaffirmed the party's commitment to the reunification of Cyprus as a single state with one sovereignty, citizenship, and international personality. Speaking at an anti-occupation event in Dasaki Achnas, she emphasized the need for a solution based on UN resolutions and EU principles, free from occupying forces and foreign guarantees. Additionally, the DISY Cyprus Advisory Group convened to evaluate the current political climate ahead of the upcoming visit by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The party expressed support for restarting negotiations from the point where they ceased at Crans-Montana. Separately, Annita Dimitriou met with the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Social Affairs of the Hellenic Parliament, Georgios Stylios. Both officials stressed the importance of close coordination between Greece and Cyprus during this critical juncture. The discussions covered the importance of justice for missing persons and the restoration of refugees to their ancestral homes.
