Extreme weather impacts Europe with wildfires and storms

Europe is currently experiencing a period of extreme weather characterized by severe heatwaves, wildfires, and violent storms. In central Spain's Guadalajara province, a forest fire has been burning for six days, forcing the evacuation of over 1,200 residents as temperatures exceeded 40 degrees Celsius. This follows a recent deadly fire near Bedar, Almeria, which claimed 13 lives. Meanwhile, in southwestern France, two firefighters died while combating a building fire near the Bordeaux-Merignac Airport. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez confirmed the deaths, which occurred just two weeks after another firefighter fatality in the Savoie region. While Western Europe battles fire, regions in the Balkans are reporting severe hail storms. Meteorological authorities warn of increasing instability across the continent as high temperatures maintain dangerous fire risk levels.
