US President Trump and Lebanese President Aoun hold talks in Washington

US President Donald Trump met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the White House to discuss the security situation in Lebanon. The meeting focused on a plan to disarm Hezbollah and achieve the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon, as outlined in an agreement from June 26. President Trump expressed willingness to engage in direct talks with Hezbollah if requested by President Aoun. Additionally, the US President addressed recent military developments in the region, including Iranian-linked strikes in Jordan. Trump also mentioned potential future military actions against a suspected nuclear material storage site, referred to as Mount Picax. President Aoun, who previously served as head of the Lebanese military, is the first Lebanese head of state to visit the White House in nearly 20 years. The discussion also covered US support for the Lebanese army's efforts to stabilize areas vacated by militant groups.
