Two people remanded in custody following stabbing in Nicosia
A 38-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman have been remanded in custody for eight days by the Nicosia district court following a stabbing incident. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, when a 30-year-old man was found with an abdominal wound in Nicosia. The victim was transported to Nicosia General Hospital, where he remains under medical care; doctors report that his condition is no longer life-threatening. While most sources state the assault happened in a public area, Cyprus Times reports the altercation took place inside an apartment during a dinner involving two couples, all of whom are nationals of the Philippines. The 38-year-old man is being investigated for the attack, while the 34-year-old woman is accused of aiding and abetting a felony. Police executed arrest warrants for both individuals on Wednesday. The Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department is continuing its probe into the case.
