Rita Superman appointed as head of the refugee policy portfolio at DISY

Annita Demetriou, the leader of the Democratic Rally (DISY) party, has officially appointed Rita Superman as the head of the Refugee Policy Portfolio within the party’s Government Work Monitoring Council. This appointment is part of a broader internal reorganization aimed at utilizing the experience of party officials. Superman previously served on the parliamentary committee for refugees, which informed the decision. During the announcement, Demetriou noted that 52 years have passed since the Turkish invasion and subsequent occupation of part of the island. She emphasized that the state must address the needs of displaced persons and formulate effective support policies. The appointment serves as a strategic move to address long-standing issues faced by refugees. Superman expressed her gratitude to the party president for the appointment. The party aims to focus on substantive proposals for refugees until a final, sustainable solution to the Cyprus problem is achieved.
