Marveille, a refugee from the Congo, has successfully secured a position at the University of Cyprus. She arrived in the country three years ago alongside her mother and her brother, Romy, possessing no knowledge of the Greek language. During her time at Palouriotissa Lyceum, she managed to master the language and graduate while simultaneously dealing with the profound personal tragedy of losing her mother to cancer.

The school community, including teachers, students, parents, and local organizations, provided significant support to the siblings during their ordeal. Following these events, the school celebrated both Marveille’s academic achievement and the recent employment of her brother, Romy, at the company Kapodistrias. The school highlighted her success as a testament to the strength of their community, noting that many students achieve such goals without private tutoring while balancing family responsibilities.
