Conversely, the road safety statistics show that Cyprus ranked 8th in the EU for the lowest number of road traffic deaths, with 36 fatalities per million inhabitants. It also ranked 14th regarding road safety per kilometer, with 46 deaths per 10 billion passenger kilometers.
