Following several days of extreme heat, with temperatures reaching up to 44 degrees Celsius, Cyprus has begun to experience a gradual decline in temperatures. On July 23, the Department of Meteorology issued an orange warning for the inland areas to address the peak heat, but a shift in the warm air mass has since brought a significant cooling trend starting from July 24.

By July 25, temperatures are expected to stabilize at more moderate levels, reaching approximately 34 degrees Celsius in inland regions and 30 to 33 degrees Celsius in coastal areas. Meteorological forecasts indicate that the weekend will bring locally increased cloud cover and isolated rain, particularly in mountainous and eastern parts of the island. Wind conditions remain dynamic, with gusts occasionally reaching 5 to 6 Beaufort in coastal zones.

While weather instability, including potential rain and strong winds, is expected to persist through the weekend, meteorologists note that the overall thermal load has decreased significantly compared to the earlier heatwave. A slight rise in temperature is projected for the following week, returning values toward seasonal norms, though no extreme weather events similar to those forecasted for Greece are anticipated for the island.
