A serious traffic accident occurred late on July 22, approximately ten minutes before midnight, on the road between Latsi and the Baths of Aphrodite in Cyprus. A 22-year-old Greek Cypriot male was operating a high-capacity motorcycle with a 22-year-old female passenger from Germany. While negotiating a turn, the driver lost control, veered off the roadway, struck several trees, and the vehicle overturned.

Both individuals were transported by ambulance to the Paphos General Hospital with severe injuries. The driver, who was wearing a helmet, sustained a ruptured spleen and internal bleeding, requiring emergency surgery; he remains intubated in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit. The German passenger, also wearing a helmet, sustained multiple limb fractures. Authorities noted that the motorcycle involved in the collision did not have registration plates affixed.

Local police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the loss of control and the lack of proper vehicle registration. The medical staff at Paphos General Hospital is currently providing the necessary critical care to both victims as the investigation continues.
