Dublin-born artist Miriam McConnon, currently residing in Paphos, is showcasing her work titled "There Are No Mirrors Left in Gaza" at the Limassol Municipal Arts Centre – Papadakis Warehouses. The work is part of the group exhibition "Dysfunctions in Contemporary Art / in times of conflict," which remains open to the public until July 26, 2026.

The collection is based on a two-year personal correspondence with families residing in Gaza. These families have provided the artist with photos and messages documenting their daily reality amidst the ongoing war. McConnon’s paintings focus on the concept of "soft space"—the resilient domestic life that serves as a counterbalance to the brutality of the conflict. The artwork depicts temporary shelters and remaining household objects, decorated with patterns inspired by the families' personal items, to humanize the experience of survival in a war zone.
