Apoel Nicosia has reached an agreement in principle to sign 34-year-old Serbian attacking midfielder Filip Djuricic. The transfer follows the abrupt cancellation of a deal for Czech midfielder Antonin Barak, which fell through on July 24, 2026, due to medical concerns identified during the final stages of negotiations. The club officially announced the decision to part ways with Barak, labeling it a mutually beneficial outcome.

Djuricic, who previously played for Panathinaikos, is joining an Apoel squad currently undergoing its main pre-season training phase in Poland. He is expected to undergo medical and ergometric examinations to finalize his contract. This signing marks the third player recruited by Apoel from Panathinaikos this season, following Dimitri Limnios and Daniel Mancini.

Looking ahead, the club, under the guidance of Zisis Vryzas, is actively pursuing further reinforcements, including potential negotiations for Greek international midfielder Manolis Siopis and evaluating the acquisition of veteran goalkeeper Alexandros Paschalakis.
