The Supreme Court of Cyprus has upheld a lower court decision to cancel a search warrant issued on July 1, 2025, concerning two bank vaults belonging to businesswoman Nataly Tziapoura. The case is linked to an ongoing trial at the Nicosia Criminal Court involving allegations of money laundering, protection racketeering, and illegal gambling, centered around connections between Tziapoura and imprisoned convict Giorgos Christodoulou, known as Zavrantonas.

The search warrant was initially issued based on police reports regarding the management of large cash sums and suspicious business profits. During the subsequent search of the vaults, authorities seized €238,000. However, the Supreme Court ruled that the police failed to provide sufficient evidence to the District Court to justify the warrant's issuance. Consequently, the findings from these vaults are now deemed inadmissible as evidence in the pending criminal trial.

The investigation into Tziapoura began in June 2025 following tips that she was receiving large payments on behalf of the imprisoned Zavrantonas. Prior to the vault searches, police had raided her home and properties associated with her contacts, seizing phones, a painting, and a small amount of cash. The case continues to proceed through the court system, although the exclusion of the vault evidence marks a significant setback for the prosecution's case.
