Leader Tufan Erhürman has downplayed expectations, stating that the visit is not a terminal "farewell" trip and emphasizing that he will not engage in negotiations merely for the sake of appearances. He advocates for prior confidence-building measures, such as opening new crossing points and resolving citizenship issues for children of mixed marriages. Other Turkish Cypriot factions, such as the Communal Democracy Party, view the visit as a critical strategic chance for a resolution. Meanwhile, the Greek Cypriot side has voiced concerns over recent Turkish seismic survey activities in the region, noting that despite international optimism, Ankara’s current actions do not align with the progress desired by the EU and UN. UN envoy María Ángela Holguín is expected to meet with President Nikos Christodoulides in Nicosia on Monday to finalize preparations.
