Pafos FC interested in 19-year-old Real Betis striker Rodrigo Marina
Pafos FC is currently evaluating the potential acquisition of 19-year-old striker Rodrigo Marina, who is a product of the Real Betis youth academy. According to reports from the Spanish outlet Diario de Sevilla, the Cypriot cup winners face competition from Portuguese side FC Alverca and Italian Serie B club US Avellino. Marina, whose market value is estimated at 2 million euros, played for Betis Deportivo last season.
The prospect of joining Pafos FC is considered particularly attractive due to the club’s ongoing participation in European competitions. As they are currently involved in the Europa League qualifiers, the player would have guaranteed involvement in European matches, potentially transitioning to the Conference League if they are eliminated. Betis is reportedly seeking a permanent transfer rather than a loan deal, aiming to retain a significant percentage of any future sell-on fee, a strategy consistent with their past dealings regarding academy players.
The transfer remains in the exploratory phase as multiple clubs monitor the situation. While the European pathway serves as a primary incentive for the striker to choose the Cypriot side, no official agreements have been finalized between the parties involved.
