A two-metre-long ditch has emerged on the Apostolou Pavlou Avenue between the villages of Emba and Tala in Paphos, creating significant safety hazards for motorists. The Paphos traffic police have identified the site as a danger zone and are urging the Emba village council to conduct immediate repairs. Due to a lack of action from the local authorities thus far, the traffic police have escalated the matter to the Chief of Police, Themistos Arnaoutis.

Emba mukhtar Marios Metaxas stated that the damage is more severe than a simple road subsidence, describing it as a displacement that requires extensive intervention. He suggested that the road, which is a key route toward Kissonerga, requires structural widening and the installation of safety railings to protect drivers from an adjacent stormwater drainage ditch. The village council is currently considering whether to conduct the repairs using internal crews or to initiate a formal tender process to hire a specialized contractor. In the meantime, motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution when traveling through the area.
