Community Relations Fund allocates 54,000 euros to support Cyprus communities
On July 23, 2026, the Cyprus Community Relations Fund (CCRF) announced the allocation of €54,000 to support more than 28 communities within and surrounding the Sovereign Base Areas (SBAs) of Dhekelia and Akrotiri.
These funds are designated for a variety of local projects, including the support of schools, charitable organizations, welfare groups, cultural associations, and sports clubs. Area Officers Maria Kyriakidou-Pieri of Dhekelia and George Kiteos of Akrotiri confirmed the funding during recent ceremonies. Kyriakidou-Pieri, speaking with representatives of the Paralimni-Derynia Municipality, emphasized that while the annual funding is modest, it remains a pillar of the SBA Administration’s ongoing commitment to improving the daily lives of residents in both the SBAs and the Republic of Cyprus.
This initiative reflects the long-standing efforts by the SBA Administration to foster collaboration with neighboring communities through financial assistance. The fund serves as a mechanism to strengthen ties between the base administration and local stakeholders, providing essential resources for social and civic development projects.
