The probe follows complaints from parents and organized groups regarding student factions using this data to contact students after the official announcement of the 2026 exam results.

The investigation is deemed complex as the data involved may be held by multiple controllers. The Commissioner’s office has emphasized that any collection, processing, or dissemination of such personal information must strictly adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and relevant national legislation. Officials clarified that the public release of exam results does not grant student groups or third parties the right to access or utilize private contact details of the candidates or their guardians. The authorities are currently reviewing the matter to ensure full compliance with privacy laws.
