On the afternoon of Thursday, July 23, 2026, four individuals were rescued from the sea at Molos beach in Limassol, specifically near the 'Thalassaki' area. The incident occurred when the group found themselves in distress between two breakwaters, prompting urgent calls for help that were initially mistaken by nearby bathers for a prank.

Lifeguards stationed at a nearby tower responded immediately using a jet ski. While two individuals struggled against the waves, the other two were located approximately 15 metres away, with one person attempting to keep his exhausted companion afloat. The rescuers successfully pulled the unconscious man from the water and provided first aid on the beach until an ambulance arrived.
