Turkish authorities have arrested social media influencer Fatma Soydas, known by the username "fffatmaase_", following a criminal investigation launched by the Ankara Public Prosecutor's Office. Soydas, who frequently appears in content wearing a hijab, was detained in Istanbul and subsequently remanded in custody by a court. The charges filed against her include "publicly insulting religious values" and "publishing obscene material" under Article 216/3 of the Turkish Penal Code.

In addition to her arrest, the 5th Criminal Court of Peace in Ankara ordered an immediate block on access to her TikTok and Instagram accounts containing the flagged content. The prosecutor's office stated that a thorough investigation into her online activities is currently ongoing. Authorities initiated the legal action after determining that the content of her posts potentially violated national laws regarding religious sentiment and public decency.
