On Thursday, July 23, 2026, the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Klea Chatzistefanou-Papaellina, led a delegation to the Limassol Municipality to discuss the enhancement of local social services. The delegation included Ministry officials, including General Director Giannis Nikolaidis and Social Welfare Services head Christina Kontou, who were welcomed by Limassol Mayor Giannis Armeftis and Athena Spyrou, head of the Social Welfare and Cohesion Committee.

During the visit, municipal officials, led by Social Programs Officer Christina Tsamparta, presented an overview of existing social projects and identified key challenges and opportunities for service expansion. Mayor Armeftis emphasized the municipality's intention to strengthen cooperation with the Ministry to both sustain current initiatives and implement new social welfare programs, which remain a primary priority for the local administration.
