The group published their statement on July 24, 2026, amid widespread media speculation concerning the potential structure of a future central state.

The signatories, including figures such as Simos Angelidis and Harita Mandoles, argue that the rumored constitutional arrangements would establish a weak central government requiring Turkish consensus for critical decisions, including defense, security, and EU relations. They characterize such a model as incompatible with the European acquis and argue it would legitimize the status quo resulting from the 1974 invasion, including the presence of Turkish troops and settlers. The group is demanding full transparency from political leadership, including the public release of all documents related to previous concessions and agreements.
