The Cyprus Department of Public Works has announced a series of scheduled road maintenance operations on the A1 motorway between Nicosia and Limassol. These interventions are part of ongoing efforts to maintain traffic safety infrastructure along the highway network.

On Friday, July 24, 2026, from 21:00 to 05:00, workers will repair safety barriers on the central median of the Limassol-Nicosia direction near the Idali industrial area exit. A similar operation will take place on Monday, July 27, 2026, during the same hours, on the Nicosia-Limassol side near the same location. During both timeframes, a 500-meter section of the inner traffic lane adjacent to the central median will be closed, and traffic will be diverted into the neighboring lanes.

Drivers are advised to exercise caution and follow the temporary signage installed in the vicinity of the construction zones. These works are categorized as essential maintenance to ensure the integrity of the motorway’s protective barriers and general road safety standards.
