The university team LIVIA secured first place at the European youth entrepreneurship competition GEN-E 2026, held in July 2026. The group was also honored with the FedEx Access Award, providing them with valuable networking opportunities alongside investors and industry experts from across Europe.

LIVIA has developed an innovative smart farming platform that integrates satellite imagery, autonomous drone technology, and artificial intelligence. The system is designed to transform complex environmental data into actionable insights for farmers. Initially, the project is focusing on the viticulture sector, specifically aiming to optimize irrigation, facilitate early disease detection, and reduce the environmental impact of pesticide application by analyzing individual plants.

The team is currently focused on finalizing their first functional product prototype. Their immediate plans involve launching pilot programs within Cyprus to validate the technology in real-world agricultural conditions. Moving forward, the developers aim to expand the platform's utility to include a broader range of crop types and eventually enter international markets.
