The Yungas road in Bolivia, commonly referred to as the 'Death Road', remains one of the most perilous routes in the world. Spanning approximately 64 kilometers, this narrow, winding dirt track connects the capital city of La Paz to the Yungas forest region within the Amazon rainforest. In many sections, the road width is less than three meters, often featuring sheer drops with no protective guardrails and frequent landslides.

The route gained a grim reputation due to a high number of fatalities among Bolivian residents recorded between 1999 and 2003. Despite these dangers, it continues to attract more than 25,000 tourists annually. Its status as a dangerous attraction was further cemented following a high-profile appearance by Jeremy Clarkson on the television show Top Gear, where his visible distress while driving the route highlighted its challenging conditions.

While the road is used less frequently for daily transit today, it persists as a significant tourist site. Visitors continue to traverse the path, often acknowledging the extreme risks involved in the journey.
