Three prominent funeral services are scheduled for Monday, July 27, 2026, across Cyprus following the recent passing of three individuals. Odysseas Georgiou, a 91-year-old EOKA fighter and former District Officer of Limassol, passed away on July 24 and will be laid to rest at 4:30 p.m. at the Saints Constantine and Helen Church in Nicosia. Known for his role as a close associate of Grigoris Afxentiou, Georgiou served as a sub-commander in the EOKA struggle.

Additionally, the community will bid farewell to two others. Elisavet A. Kyprianidi, 84, died on July 25 and her funeral will be held at 5:00 p.m. at the Saint George Fragoudis Church, with burial at the Palodeia cemetery. Eftychios Kalliroi, 76, who passed away on July 24, will have his funeral service held at 4:00 p.m. at the Saint Mamas Church in Trachoni. Families of the deceased have requested that donations be made in lieu of floral wreaths to support various causes, including the PASYKAF organization for the memory of Odysseas Georgiou.
