To ensure operational readiness, a drill using the "Astrapi" (Lightning) plan was conducted in Limassol on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Civil Defence force, led by spokesman Panayiotis Liasides, is conducting regular patrols and coordinating with the Fire Service and Forestry Department. Regarding international operations, Liasides confirmed that both Spain and France had requested aerial firefighting support from Cyprus to combat major wildfires. However, these requests were later withdrawn; Spain secured aid from Portugal, and France reported that it no longer required external aerial assets. Authorities continue to monitor meteorological data closely to determine future operational shifts.
